The CAC released our first (and only) album in 2001. Sometime around 2003-2004 a friend/fan of ours played our album for some friends of his from Boston. They liked it. They also happened to be starting a record label. They flew to Portland to explain to us why they wanted us on their new label. We were excited. There was only one catch: They simply wanted to re-release our album with better distribution and new artwork. We wanted to release an entirely new album. So we met them halfway (across the sky) and said it should be half old and half new. And they went for it.
We also decided - George Lucas style - to fix all the little things in our old stuff that bugged us and proceeded to rewrite lyrics and alter beats. A couple months later we submitted Simple Tricks And Nonsense for release. For reasons beyond our control, the album was never released.
Soon thereafter, the CAC went on hiatus. So this is the album that we never really intended on making, but it got made and it got mastered, so what they hey: here it is.
